Likely, Dave Dahl is best known locally in the Twin Cities as the affable weatherman, the charitable personality, the well-coiffed 5 Eyewitness News forecaster. But from the beginning - 31 years ago - Dahl has been a bit of a technology geek, spending an entire career with leading-edge weather and television technology as 5 Eyewitness News’ meteorologist-for-life.

Now Dahl has developed an integrative technology application on a new website that he and others feel will become the new standard for internet weather service. The website, patent pending, is free to the internet public, personalized to each user by Dahl himself, in Dave‘s own voice…“Good morning Pat”…and offers site visitors personally-selected weather conditions and forecasts.

Dahl first began thinking about a weather website in 2006. After nearly three decades of fielding phone calls for personal weather forecasts from friends, family, friends of family and friends of friends, Dahl considered how this sizeable group could get everything they need with a click of a mouse.

Dave and son Andy Dahl hired Webaloo, Inc., of Stillwater to join in the creation of a package of website, video and data technology solutions. As the website developer, Webaloo designed and programmed a powerful easy-to-use website that integrates huge volumes of data from a variety of national weather services, and offers unprecedented personalization features.
